Bar Yohai is an Orthodox Synagogue comprised of more than 60 families.

We are a diverse community that includes Sephardim, Ashkenazim, and Jews from all over the world. We are located in the heart of Silicon Valley and most members of our community make a living in the high-tech industry. Our Synagogue shares the campus of the South Peninsula Hebrew Day School (www.sphds.org), a local Modern Orthodox day school. We are known for our welcoming and warm atmosphere, support of the state of Israel, and a keen interest in stimulating and inspiring Jewish learning.

 

Bar Yohai is a vibrant community attracting more than 120 people every Shabbat. We hold regular daily minyanim, and offer a wide range of social and educational activities such as Kiddush, Seudah Shlishit and Children’s programs every Shabbat as well as Holiday programs and a variety of classes on Shabbat and during the week.

 

Bar Yohai is an important resource for many of the high-tech workers visiting our area, as well as for those who stay for a year or two. We are always happy to cater to the needs of visitors who are in the area and in need of hospitality.

Membership

 

We welcome you to visit Bar Yohai and experience our warm welcome when you are in our area. Individuals or families interested in joining as members should contact the Membership Committee by email.

 

Membership fee is $1,536 per year (or $128 / month) for a family and $768 per year (or $64 / month) for singles. All donations and membership dues are tax deductible.
